Chanel Joues Contraste in Espiegle ($42/ #65 Fard a Joues Poudre Powder Blush Espiegle) is a beautiful addition to Chanel’s legendary line of Joues Contraste blushes. In the lovely pressed powder format that imparts an incredibly natural glow, Espiegle is a warm mix of peach, gold and a touch of pink.

I was pleased to see that Espiegle uses the familiar soft, finely milled powder formula that U.S. beauty lovers have come to know and love.  Note that although Espiegle uses the U.S. formula, the blush is made in France.

In the pan, Espiegle has a slight gold shimmer, it is unquestionably a warm-toned blush.

Here, it swatches lighter and more coral that Chanel Joues Contraste In Love.  I thought it helpful to compare it to a few other warm corals in my collection, including the more pink MAC Hipness, as well as a discontinued Bobbi Brown Coral, which also has gold shimmers (this Bobbi Brown blush is in the round pan).

Here is Espiegle on Liz, together with Chanel Rouge Allure in Flamboyante:

Liz is wearing Chanel Lift Lumiere in Ivoire, Guerlain Le 2 Mascara, a bit of bronzer as a brow powder, and Caron powder.  She uses a black pencil liner on her lower lashline.  She applied Espiegle a touch more than she would normally wear it, to ensure that you can see the color well on all types of computer monitors, cell phones or the like.

Another, same makeup:

Like the rest of Chanel’s Spring 2011, Espiegle has a luminosity and a subtle color that looks absolutely lovely.  Few blushes match the texture of the Joues Contraste blush, and Espiegle is a lovely addition to the already legendary line.
